Purpose
SWIFT is the International Financial and Interbank Telecommunication Association, established in 1973 with 239 banks from 15 countries participating. Currently, SWIFT has linked more than 9,000 financial institutions across 209 countries and territories.
Any organization that participates in SWIFT must comply with an Information Security Controls framework issued by SWIFT (SWIFT Customer Security Controls Framework).
